BURBANK, Calif. (AP) - What’s in a name?

Ask operators of Bob Hope Airport in Burbank.

The airport authority on Monday voted to add the word Hollywood to the unofficial name. It will now be called Hollywood Burbank Airport for marketing purposes - although its legal name remains Bob Hope Airport.

The idea is to attract more users by letting out-of-state visitors know the suburban airfield is next door to Tinseltown and close to other Los Angeles attractions.

The airport has gone through a number of name changes, beginning life as United Airport in 1930. It was Hollywood-Burbank Airport from 1967 to 1978, then Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport.

The official name was changed to Bob Hope Airport in 2003 after the death of the famous comedian, who lived nearby.
