BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A Buffalo man is facing up to a life sentence after a jury convicted him of second-degree murder in a December 2014 shooting death.
Erie County prosecutors say a jury found 27-year-old DeShawn Harris guilty on Monday of killing 24-year-old Denell Baker.
Buffalo police say Harris shot Baker eight times, including twice in the head.
Police say Harris had been wearing an ankle monitor for a 2011 weapon charge, allowing police to track his whereabouts.
Co-defendant Jordan Hicks has pleaded guilty to hindering the prosecution and criminal possession of a weapon for being the getaway driver and having the murder weapon.
Harris and Hicks are scheduled to be sentenced later this month.
