CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton continues her visit to Appalachia on Tuesday with a stop in Charleston, meeting with people who have been affected by substance abuse.

Clinton’s campaign says she will meet with community leaders, practitioners and people and family members who have struggled with addiction. The event is at the University of Charleston.

Hundreds of protesters confronted Clinton on Monday in Williamson. On Sunday, her husband, former President Bill Clinton, drew boos and shouts from a crowd in Logan.

Republicans criticized Hillary Clinton for earlier comments that her policies would put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business. Clinton said later she was mistaken and that she is committed to coalfield workers and communities.
