RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Voters in cities and towns across Virginia are getting ready to pick new local officials.
Local elections are being held Tuesday in several communities across the state.
Elections for mayor are being held in Norfolk, Chesapeake, Fairfax and Fredericksburg, among other places.
Voters in many communities will also be choosing city council and school board members.
Polling places will be open by 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Election officials say people who are in line by 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote.
Registered voters must show a photo ID at the polls to cast their ballots.
