CRAMERTON, N.C. (AP) - A man has died after being struck by a train in Cramerton.

The Gaston Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1Ti6qma) that Norfolk Southern Railway contacted Gaston County 911 on Monday to report that one of its trains had struck a pedestrian in north Cramerton.

According to a release from Cramerton Police Chief Greg Ratchford, 23-year-old Oscar Aleman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating why Aleman was on the tracks.
