DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A judge won’t stop the University of Iowa from ending contracts with a company that failed to install wireless networks at Kinnick Stadium and Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Judge Robert Blink rejected a request for a temporary injunction by American Tower Corp., which sought to block Iowa’s plan to move forward with another vendor.

Blink ruled last week that ATC failed to show that it will suffer “an irreparable injury” without the injunction. He says any damage to ATC’s reputation is speculative and that the loss of revenue isn’t enough.

The university gave ATC the rights to build, market and operate the networks in 2013, hoping to improve the fan experience at football and basketball games.

Iowa cancelled them last year after ATC failed to begin construction or sign contracts with carriers.
