MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - A central Indiana man has pleaded guilty in a fatal drunk driving case in which he killed a Muncie teenager when he slammed into his motor scooter last summer.

The (Muncie) Star Press (https://tspne.ws/23jiVU9 ) reports that 24-year-old Benjamin David Brand of Cicero pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated causing death during a hearing on Monday in which he admitted that he’d had “about 10 beers” before the July 10 collision that killed 18-year-old Mason L.R. Wolfe.

Authorities say that blood tests revealed that at the time of the collision Brand’s blood-alcohol content was three times the legal limit for motorists in Indiana.

Brand is scheduled to be sentenced in Delaware Circuit Court on June 23.
