BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A 21-year-old Buffalo man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for fatally shooting a 54-year-old man during a robbery last summer.
The Erie County District Attorney’s Office says German Rosado-Thomas of Buffalo received the maximum sentence from a county court judge on Monday. In March Rosado-Thomas pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in the shooting death of James McCloskey of Buffalo.
Prosecutors say McCloskey was walking down a street in the city last Aug. 17 when Rosado-Thomas and with his brother, 17-year old Alvin Marrero, attempted to rob McCloskey. Rosado-Thomas then shot McCloskey, killing him.
Marrero has pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter. He faces 10 to 25 years in prison when he’s sentenced on May 17.
