ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - A Minnesota radio station is arranging a nationwide simulcast of a Prince song to honor the late music superstar.

Minnesota Public Radio station The Current is inviting other stations across the country to play Prince’s hit “Nothing Compares 2 U” on Wednesday. The song will be broadcast on stations across the country at 5:07 p.m. Central time, which marks “7 hours and 13 days” - a lyric from the song - since Prince’s death.

Stations in Seattle, Philadelphia, New York and Austin, Texas, are among those that already have signed on.

The Current’s program director, Jim McGuinn, says marking the moment with Prince’s song would be “a wonderful way to honor his legacy.”

Prince was found dead April 21 in his Paisley Park studio complex in suburban Minneapolis.
