CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say an Atlantic City police sergeant admitted she structured financial transactions to avoid filing required reports and lied to federal agents about her relationship with a convicted drug dealer.

Prosecutors say Sgt. Kiyia Harris pleaded guilty on Monday to structuring and making false statements to FBI agents in December 2014.

Prosecutors say the 39-year-old Egg Harbor Township woman made cash deposits in increments of under $10,000 each over seven years. Banks must report deposits greater than those amounts to regulators.

Prosecutors say Harris told FBI investigators she never deposited the money to help her boyfriend - who pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine - buy a car and a motorcycle.

Harris faces up to five years in prison for each count. Her sentencing is scheduled for August.
