Robber gets 5-year sentence for attack on breastfeeding mom

NEW YORK (AP) - A robber who attacked a woman breastfeeding on a New York City park bench has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Prosecutors say Juan Garcia threatened the 39-year-old mother with a knife as she was feeding her 6-month-old daughter in Fort Tryon Park in November.

The Daily News (https://nydn.us/1Z6xCJ3 ) says he was sentenced on Monday.

Authorities say he pushed the woman from behind and then displayed the knife before grabbing her bag and fleeing.

Police tracked Garcia through the smartphone in the woman’s bag.
