MENDENHALL, Miss. (AP) - A standoff between police and an assault suspect has ended peacefully.
Multiple news agencies report deputies when to a home in Mendenhall Monday night to serve a warrant for the arrest of 23-year-old Joseph McGovern. He was wanted on a felony aggravated assault charge against a deputy last week.
McGovern refused to come out and then barricaded himself in the house.
Just before 11 p.m., McGovern surrendered to authorities.
