LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Las Vegas 16-year-old has pleaded not guilty as an adult to murder, robbery and conspiracy charges in the stabbing death of a man at a fast-food restaurant.
Jason Lloyd Carlton II and his court-appointed lawyer made an initial appearance Tuesday before a Las Vegas judge who scheduled a June 3 preliminary hearing in the April 17 slaying of 27-year-old Clinton Englehart.
Carlton is being held without bail at the Clark County jail.
The Associated Press is identifying him because a judge determined he will be prosecuted as an adult.
Carlton’s lawyer, Christy Craig, declined to comment outside court.
Police say Englehart was stabbed in the chest in a fight at the business near Desert Breeze Park, where investigators found a knife believed to have been used in the attack.
