PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - Yavapai County authorities say a woman whose actions triggered an Amber Alert last weekend has been arrested on a drug charge.
County sheriff’s officials say 33-year-old Belinda Hartman was approached by Sedona police Saturday after law enforcement issued an Amber Alert for her and her 9-month-old daughter.
Police officers found the two in a business district off of Highway 89A.
Sheriff’s detectives arrived and determined Hartman was under the influence of methamphetamine.
They say Hartman admitted to using meth within the past two days.
She’d been charged with possession/use of a dangerous drug.
It’s unclear if Hartman has a lawyer.
Authorities still are investigating if any charges will be filed as a result of the Amber Alert.
The state Department of Child Safety has taken custody of the baby girl.
