WASHINGTON (AP) — Metro Transit Police are investigating after a woman was shot at the green line’s Anacostia station.

Metro says a woman walked up to a Metro Transit Police officer around 7:45 p.m. Sunday and reported that an unknown man had shot her in the leg. The shooting reportedly happened in the above ground area of the station where buses arrive and depart.

Metro spokeswoman Sherri Ly says the woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No information about a suspect was released.
