PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - One person has been found dead following a fire at a vacant house in Providence.

Firefighters were called to the Linwood Avenue house at around 2 a.m. Wednesday. Deputy Assistant Chief Ken Rainone says it took almost an hour and a half to control the flames. He says this isn’t the first fire at the home.

A body was removed from the building and put into a state Medical Examiner’s vehicle. It’s unclear whether the victim was a man or a woman.

The death and cause of the fire remain under investigation.
