YORK, Pa. (AP) - The former band director at a central Pennsylvania high school has pleaded no contest to corrupting a minor - a then-17-year-old girl he’s accused of having sex with and now plans to marry.

The York Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1SYjRuy ) reports 29-year-old Jeremy Leidhecker, of Williamsport, entered the plea Tuesday in York County.

Leidhecker resigned from Northern High School in York County after the allegations surfaced in September 2013.

Defense attorney Rick Robinson says the girl was nearly 18 when the relationship began and they now “just want to move on with their lives.”

Leidhecker composes music for marching bands, but won’t go back into teaching. His attorney says he has other job offers in Los Angeles and Ireland.

Under terms of a plea agreement, Leidhecker paid court costs but wasn’t fined or otherwise punished.
