HENDERSON, Ky. (AP) - The Henderson Fire Department has confirmed that a gas leak was the cause of a home explosion that severely injured one person earlier this week.

Deputy State Fire Marshal Phil Fogle tells news outlets that the male victim in Monday’s explosion has been flown to a Louisville burn unit. His condition was not immediately available.

The evening explosion was strong enough to blow out part of a wall on the side of the brick house. Henderson Fire Chief Scott Foreman tells WFIE-TV (https://bit.ly/1X8r7XK ) that the house will have to be demolished.

Two other people inside the house escaped unharmed.

Authorities are not yet sure where the gas leak occurred.
