RICHLAND, Mich. (AP) - Voters have rejected a proposal for a small village near Kalamazoo to be dissolved.

A majority of voters went against the measure to dissolve the village of Richland that was up for election Tuesday. The proposal, which would have seen the village become part of Richland Township, needed a two-thirds majority to pass.

The Kalamazoo Gazette (https://bit.ly/23nMLXO ) reports two previous attempts to disincorporate the village failed.
