SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Sacramento jurors have found a woman guilty of murder for shooting a man on a light-rail car in 2014. They must now decide whether she was sane at the time.

The Sacramento Bee reports (https://bit.ly/21wor6J ) that the Tuesday verdict ended the first part of 34-year-old Lynnsey Evakarla Braun’s trial. Braun pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity to shooting 51-year-old Eric McCaster.

Sacramento Superior Court Judge Allen Sumner said deliberation could begin Wednesday afternoon.

Police say an inebriated McCaster tried to talk to Braun and at one point dropped a bottle shaped like a pistol on the floor. Prosecutors say Braun ignored him until she pulled out a revolver and fired six shots at close range.

Braun told offers she was defending herself after McCaster displayed a gun.
