BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A Montana man on parole for homicide is facing new charges for shooting a woman in the leg.
The Billings Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/2dYTJo4 ) that the 40-year-old man is being held on a $500,000 bond and will be put under GPS monitoring if he is released.
The man was sentenced to state prison in 2005 for mitigated deliberate homicide.
Billings Police arrested the man Saturday evening after reports of a shooting. Officers say the man was holding a knife to his throat, saying he had shot his girlfriend and telling police to shoot him. According to court documents, officers had to use a Taser on him to get the knife away and arrest him.
