BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Police in Burlington, Vermont, say they’re investigating a Donald Trump campaign sign painted with a swastika that was found near the headquarters of a campus Jewish group at the University of Vermont.
Police tell The Burlington Free Press (https://bfpne.ws/2eFkOva ) it’s unclear if the sign was more a criticism of Trump or was targeted at Jewish students who frequent the Hillel center.
Matt Vogel, executive director of Hillel’s University of Vermont chapter, says no matter how Jewish students voted, seeing a swastika - the symbol of Nazism - is “a very painful thing” for many.
Vogel says the university administration has done a good job showing support for all students. The incident was reported to police on Wednesday.
