ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - A federal prosecutor says an Alexandria woman has pleaded guilty to using a medical clinic’s credit cards to make unauthorized purchases.
U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley says in a Wednesday news release that 35-year-old Alaina Stansell pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud.
Finley says Stansell worked at a urology clinic in Alexandria, where she had access to office credit cards. Prosecutors said she used those cards from Dec. 1, 2013, to March 30, 2015, to make unauthorized purchases and expenditures of about $119,000.
Sentencing was set for Feb. 3. The charge carries a sentence of up to 30 years.
