INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A man has been killed in an Indianapolis neighborhood that just celebrated a year without a homicide.
Police say the victim was fatally shot Friday morning in the Crown Hill neighborhood, about four miles north of downtown Indianapolis.
The Rev. Charles Harrison tells The Indianapolis Star (https://indy.st/2fXeT7o ) that he’s “sad that this happened.” He’s the leader of the Ten Point Coalition, an anti-violence group that teaches conflict resolution and other skills.
The coalition and police held a public safety walk Sunday to celebrate 365 days without a homicide.
In 2013, the Crown Hill neighborhood was ranked among the top 25 most dangerous neighborhoods in the U.S. by a website called Neighborhood Scout.
