WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - A Middletown teenager charged in connection with a crash that killed his Salesianum School classmate is expected to appear in court next week.

The Wilmington News Journal reports (https://delonline.us/2fLizEf ) that John Kirsch is scheduled to attend a hearing Monday at the New Castle County court.

Kirsch was indicted by a grand jury on charges of second-degree vehicular homicide for the death of 17-year-old Tyler Brown of Woolwich, New Jersey. He was also charged with second-degree vehicular assault for life-threatening injuries 17-year-old Kelly Muschiatti suffered. Kirsch also faces alcohol-related charges.

Police say Kirsch was driving Brown and Muschiatti in a pickup truck on March 11 when Kirsch tried to cut across U.S. 301, colliding with a tractor-trailer. Brown died the next day from injuries he sustained in the crash.
