JAY, Okla. (AP) - The Democratic challenger in the Delaware County sheriff’s race says he’s asking for a recount after unofficial results show him losing by seven votes.

Mike Shambaugh told the Tulsa World (https://bit.ly/2g0te2T ) Friday that he’s asking for the recount in his race against incumbent Republican Sheriff Harlan Moore.

The Delaware County Election Board said the manual recount will begin at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Complete but unofficial returns from Tuesday’s election show Moore defeated Shambaugh by a count of 7,797 to 7,790.
