SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - The case of a Springfield man charged with sexually assaulting two young girls is in the hands of the jury.

Masslive.com (https://bit.ly/2fI5AU5 ) reports that the Hampden Superior Court jurors are scheduled to resume deliberations in the trial of 26-year-old Christopher Manolarakis on Monday after starting last Thursday. Courts were closed Friday for Veterans Day.

Manolarakis faces four counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 and one count of rape of a child aggravated by age difference. The alleged offenses occurred from April 2010 until February 2015. One of the girls was as young as 7 or 8.

The suspect’s lawyer calls the girls troubled and says they made false accusations.

The alleged victims testified that they did not think anyone would believe them.
