KOYLTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities in Michigan’s Thumb region are investigating a possible case of ethnic intimidation after stacked and taped-together cardboard boxes covered with the words “Trump” and “take back America” were left on a family’s driveway.

MLive.com reports (https://bit.ly/2exEt1P ) Monday that vulgar graffiti was spray-painted on the driveway and a phrase disparaging Mexicans was painted on the boxes. A doll made of balloons was hanging nearby.

One of the family members in the Koylton Township home is Hispanic.

Tuscola County sheriff’s officials say the boxes were discovered Saturday and called the incident “a crime.”

Trump campaigned against illegal immigration and proposed building a wall along the U.S. border with Mexico.

Numerous incidents of threats, intimidation and racially charged violence have been reported around the country following his victory over Democrat Hillary Clinton.
