So now you’ll probably never watch the original Star Wars trilogy nor last year’s “Force Awakens” and see it in the same light.
Disclosing what has been a closely-guarded secret for 40 years, actress Carrie Fisher said told People magazine in an interview that she had an “intense” 3-month-long affair with “Star Wars” co-star Harrison Ford during the filming of the 1977 blockbuster.
“It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend,” said Ms. Fisher, People reported Tuesday. She discusses the affair in her forthcoming memoir, “The Princess Diarist,” which will be available in bookstores on Tuesday, Nov. 22 and is based on her journal from the filming of the sci-fi classic.
“I was so inexperienced, but I trusted something about him,” she told People. “He was kind.”
Fourteen years her senior, Mr. Ford was married with two children at the time of the affair. According to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb.com), that marriage to first wife Mary Marquardt ended in divorce in October of 1979, seven months before the release of “The Empire Strikes Back.”
