In its first “drain the swamp” maneuver, the Donald Trump transition team announced that White House appointees would be subject to a lengthy ban on becoming a lobbyist.
The ban would last five years, Trump aide Sean Spicer told reporters Wednesday night.
The Obama administration has no post-hoc ban on becoming a lobbyist and bans people who have been registered lobbyists in the previous two years from joining (though that provision can be, and has been, waived).
