CARROLLTON, Ga. (AP) - A former Georgia state trooper has been indicted in connection with a crash that killed two teenagers last year.

WXIA-TV (https://on.11alive.com/2fcBJ7F0 ) reports that a grand jury on Tuesday indicted Anthony J. Scott on reckless driving and speeding charges in the September 2015 crash that killed 17-year-old Kylie Hope Lindsey and 16-year-old Isabella Alise Chinchilla in Carroll County.

In February, a grand jury had declined to indict Scott for vehicular homicide or violating his oath of office.

Investigators say Scott was traveling 91 mph in a patrol car five seconds before he sideswiped the girls’ car as it was attempting a left turn late at night.

Scott was fired in October 2015 and is currently a city councilmember in Buchanan. He did not respond to a request for comment on Tuesday.
