LOS ANGELES (AP) - Temperatures are climbing along with the risk of wildfires as an autumn heat wave moves into Southern California.

Forecasters predict temperatures in the low 80s Wednesday across greater Los Angeles - about 5 degrees above normal for this time of the year, and more than 10 degrees higher than Tuesday.

The warm weather is expected to last through Friday.

City News Service says conditions will create an elevated danger of fire, although winds are not expected to be strong enough to warrant red flag warnings.

Gusts could hit 50 mph in mountain areas.
