ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) - A woman in Rockville, Maryland suffered life-threatening injuries when she was struck by a branch.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman Pete Piringer said the woman was struck by a large branch as she was walking through a wooded area near the Cabin John Shopping Center at about 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Piringer said strong winds caused the branch to become detached from the tree and fall to the ground.
Due to strong winds the state is under an advisory until midnight Sunday.
Winds will gust between 40 and 45 miles per hour in Maryland.
