Dustin Hoffman can now add an International Emmy to his awards collection.

Hoffman won the International Emmy for best performance by an actor at Monday night’s awards ceremony at the Hilton New York for his role as a retired bachelor wooing a tortoise-loving widow in the BBC One TV movie “Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot.”

Two other British productions received awards: “Hoff the Record,” starring David Hasselhoff, in the comedy category, and “Capital” for TV movie/mini-series.

German TV productions also won three awards, including best actress for Christiane Paul who starred in “Under the Radar” in which she plays a judge whose life is upended when her daughter is suspected of being involved in a bombing in Berlin.

“Scandal” star Tony Goldwyn presented the honorary International Emmy Founders Award to his show’s producer Shonda Rhimes, who also created “Grey’s Anatomy.”

TV producer Shonda Rhimes didn’t get the president she wanted in the recent election, but she’ll be receiving a special honor from the president she created at the International Emmy Awards Gala.

“Scandal” star Tony Goldwyn, who plays President Fitzgerald Grant in the ABC TV drama, will be presenting the honorary International Emmy Founders Award to Rhimes Monday night at the Hilton New York.

Rhimes helped produce the short video biopic shown at the Democratic National Convention in July right before Hillary Clinton took the stage to accept the party’s presidential nomination.

The presentation to Rhimes will be the centerpiece of the International Emmy Awards Gala in which 40 nominees from 15 countries will be competing in 10 categories. Brazil has a leading seven nominations, followed by Britain with six.
