WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Wilmington police say an armed man crashed his car into a DART bus while being chased by officers, injuring the bus driver.

The chase and crash occurred around 11:50 p.m. Friday. Police say officers tried to stop a car with a false license plate, but the driver drove away.

Police say the chase ended when the car hit the bus. Officers then saw that the driver was armed with a handgun. Police say the man dropped the gun in response to the officers’ commands.

Police identified the driver as 22-year-old Deiantsy Davis of Chester, Pennsylvania. A passenger was also arrested. Police say they found more than 400 small bags of heroin in the car.

Police say the bus driver suffered a shoulder injury. No one else was on the bus.
