LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police say a woman was found beaten to death inside a motel room in the city’s Harbor City neighborhood.

Los Angeles Police Officer Irma Mota tells City News Service the woman’s body was found Sunday morning inside the Colony Motel.

She says the woman appeared to be in her 40s or 50s. Mota declined to identify her, pending notification of next of kin.

Mota says blunt force trauma appears to be the cause of death. No one has been arrested in the case.

She says the investigation is being handled by the LAPD’s Harbor Division.
