TOKYO (AP) - Former Seattle Mariners outfielder Stefen Romero has signed a one-year contract with the Orix Buffaloes of Japan’s Pacific League.

Japanese media reported the deal was worth $850,000 and has provisions for bonuses.

Romero batted .195 in 94 major league games spread over the past three seasons with Seattle.

With Triple-A Tacoma this season, Romero batted .304 in 106 games, hitting 21 home runs with 85 RBIs.

The Buffaloes finished last in the six-team Pacific League this year.
