NEW CITY, N.Y. (AP) - A homeless man has been sentenced to 20 years to life in prison in the fatal stabbing of a Rockland County man he met through a Craigslist advertisement for a roommate.

The Journal News says (https://lohud.us/2fJ8EyE ) Dylan Lentini was sentenced on Tuesday after being convicted of murder in the slaying of 66-year-old Michael Wimbert in December 2015.

Police say Lentini took a train from a Manhattan homeless shelter to meet Wimbert and stayed in his West Nyack apartment. Wimbert was found stabbed to death several days later.

The 20-year-old Lentini claimed he stabbed the retired teacher in self-defense.
