Man’s body recovered from Carbon River

SOUTH PRAIRIE, Wash. (AP) - Authorities say a man’s body has been pulled from the Carbon River south of Seattle.

The News Tribune reports (https://goo.gl/bKWbsN ) two divers from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department recovered the body near the town of South Prairie Monday afternoon.

Pierce County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Ed Troyer says the man, in his 80s, had been missing for some time.

Clothes had been found in the river and the man’s truck and wallet had been found nearby.

Medical examiners have not yet confirmed the man’s identity.
