SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A 26-year-old suspect in the fatal shooting of a West Valley man has been charged with assault and domestic violence in a separate shooting incident involving his wife.
Christopher Bonds of West Valley City was arrested Nov. 20 after he allegedly shot 25-year-old Byron Williams several times outside an apartment complex. Williams later died from his injuries.
Bonds hasn’t been formally charged in that case. But the Deseret News reports (https://tinyurl.com/jh2srrf) he was charged Monday in 3rd District Court with several counts related to allegedly firing a gunshot at his wife on Nov. 5.
The bullet missed, but Bonds’ wife told police he then choked her and punched her in the face.
He’s being held in the Salt Lake County Jail where he earlier was booked for investigation of aggravated murder in the death of Williams.
