MUSCATINE, Iowa (AP) - A man and woman have been given probation and suspended prison sentences for exposing a child to drugs.

The Muscatine Journal reports (https://bit.ly/2eDgRVy ) that 37-year-old Joshua Bartenhagen, of Atalissa, was sentenced Tuesday to 30 years in prison, suspended, and six years of probation. He’d pleaded guilty to neglect or abandonment of a dependent person and one count of a controlled substance violation.

Authorities say a child in his care was exposed to methamphetamine in November last year. The child tested positive for meth and for amphetamine.

A woman charged in the case, 34-year-old Amy Pace, has received similar sentences on similar convictions. She also pleaded guilty.
