FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Three different agencies are investigating the accidental shooting death of a Fresno County Sheriff’s sergeant by a fellow deputy earlier this week.

The Fresno Bee reports (https://bit.ly/2fyMRiD ) Fresno County District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp says that her office is “reviewing everything” related to the death of Sgt. Rod Lucas. Smittcamp declined to comment on the nature of the investigation or how long the review may take. The sheriff’s office is also investigating.

Lucas was in a room with three other people and having a conversation with a detective about how to carry their backup weapons when the shot was fired on Monday. The incident occurred at a sheriff’s office near the Fresno Yosemite International Airport.

Because the case is an occupational workplace death, the incident is also under investigation by Cal/OSHA, the occupational safety division of the state’s Department of Industrial Relations.
