BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - The 39-year-old boyfriend of a woman stabbed to death in her bed nearly six months ago has now been indicted in the brutal slaying.
The Birmingham News reports (https://bit.ly/2e4T1FO) a Jefferson County grand jury indicted Tellis Griffin for murder in the slaying of Cassandra Hatter. The indictment was issued Oct. 21, and made public this week.
The 40-year-old Hatter was found dead in her bed on April 26. Her body was discovered when her 18-year-old daughter had been unable to reach her by phone and went to her home.
Police arrested Griffin that day.
