SPANISH FORK, Utah (AP) - Police officers in Spanish Fork say they were forced to deploy a Taser on a 45-year-old woman who charged at them with a pair of scissors.

Shelley Rowe of Salem was booked into the Utah County Jail Tuesday night on suspicion of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, failure to stop at command of police and disorderly conduct.

Police told The (Provo) Daily Herald (https://tinyurl.com/hdaqtuu) that a citizen flagged down officers to report that a woman was acting belligerent in a fast food parking lot.

When an officer approached her, she reportedly yelled at him and charged him with a large pair of scissors while screaming that she was going to stab him.

Officers say she eventually had to be subdued with the Taser.
