TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Authorities say a Creek County sheriff’s deputy shot and wounded a 23-year-old man while responding to a report of gunfire in the area.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation did not release the details of what led to Thursday’s shooting in west Tulsa. The OSBI says the deputy shot Tyler Don Shepard, who was living at a nearby home with a relative.
Authorities say Shepard was shot once and was taken to a hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
The Creek County Sheriff’s Office requested that OSBI investigate the shooting. A prosecutor will determine whether the shooting was justified.
