DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A Des Moines man has been found guilty of several charges in the shooting of two teenagers outside an Ankeny fast-food restaurant last year - but not the most serious charge.

The Des Moines Register reports (https://dmreg.co/2e9tgEy ) that a jury found 37-year-old Gabriel John Coco guilty on Friday of two assault counts, causing serious injury and going armed with intent. But he was not found guilty of attempted murder.

Prosecutors say Coco shot and injured the two 18-year-old men after confronting them outside the restaurant last October over a stunt the two teens were videoing. Coco’s attorney had argued that the shooting was the result of the U.S. Army veteran’s ongoing struggles with post-traumatic stress disorder.
