TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - A Pierce County man charged with firing a gun inside a vehicle while his three young children were in the back seat has been sentenced to three months in prison.
The News Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2fiaI24 ) Mathew Weaver pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges of reckless endangerment and violating a domestic court order as part of a plea deal.
Prosecutors say Weaver had gotten upset while the mother of his children, ages 2, 4 and 9, was driving the family on a camping trip in August.
Court papers say he hit the woman in the face with a coffee mug before firing a gun out the window and into the roof of the vehicle.
The woman had a protection order against Weaver, but had agreed to go camping with him and the kids.
Weaver declined to comment.
