RANSON, W.Va. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a Ranson man who they say forced at least one of his daughters to inject him with heroin.
Citing a police report filed this week, local news organizations report that officials arrested 42-year-old Erik Reed on over 60 counts of child neglect and abuse on Oct. 5.
Charles Town Police Department spokesman Ronald Kerns says Reed forced at least one of his two teenage daughters to inject him with heroin-filled syringes over the past 12 months. Kerns says Reed beat one of the daughters when he didn’t get the high he felt he should have.
The investigation began when police searched Reed’s home after he had been identified as a suspect in a break-in at a restaurant.
It’s unclear if Reed has an attorney.
