PHOENIX (AP) - A Phoenix-area justice of the peace is facing allegations of ethical misconduct, including accusations that he failed to report campaign donations.
Clancy Jayne denies the accusations and says there’s no basis for discipline.
He has been the head judge of the Desert Ridge Justice Court since 2008.
The Desert Ridge court precinct covers parts of north Phoenix, north Scottsdale, Cave Creek and Carefree.
Jayne is scheduled to leave office in January after losing the Republican primary race three months ago.
The Arizona Republic reports that Jayne has received warnings or reprimands by the Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct at least eight times during his eight-year tenure, not including the new allegations.
A Maricopa County Superior Court judge will preside over Jayne’s hearing, but no date has been set yet.
