CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say a man has been found shot to death in a vehicle that wrecked on a busy Charlotte highway.
Police said in a news release that officers checking on the wreck on U.S. Highway 74 around 3:45 a.m. Saturday found the wounded man inside. Paramedics declared him dead.
Investigators did not say if there was anyone else inside the vehicle. They are trying to determine how and when the victim was shot.
Police identified the dead man as 43-year-old Everette Lynn. No arrests have been made.
The shooting happened about two miles from Uptown Charlotte near the Briar Creek exit on Independence Boulevard.
